The Experience

Ask most travelers to name Austria's most beautiful cities and they'll list Vienna, Salzburg, Innsbruck. Ask an Austrian, and they'll add Graz — almost in a whisper, as if they're trying to keep it to themselves. For one full day, your private driver-guide takes you south into lush, green Styria, through rolling hills and vineyards, to a city where Renaissance palaces meet medieval lanes and futuristic architecture sits calmly beside a Gothic cathedral. It's quieter than Vienna, warmer than Salzburg, and entirely its own.

You begin high above the rooftops on the Schlossberg, the hilltop fortress crowned by Graz's famous Clock Tower. From here, the city unfurls below — red rooftops, winding alleys, church spires, and the gentle curve of the Mur River. Your guide leads you down into the UNESCO-listed Old Town on foot, through narrow courtyards and elegant arcades, past the Gothic Cathedral and the majestic Landhaus with its Italianate arches. The surprise comes on the riverbank: the Kunsthaus Graz, a futuristic blue bubble of a museum that locals affectionately call the friendly alien, standing in perfect contrast to the centuries-old buildings across the water.

Lunch is unhurried — a traditional Styrian tavern, a modern café, a glass of local wine beneath a shaded courtyard. Afterwards, the city is yours to explore at your own pace: boutique shops tucked into medieval lanes, or a visit to the Landeszeughaus, the world's largest preserved historical armory, where more than 32,000 pieces of weaponry and armor wait in silence. When the day is done, you drive back north through the countryside with Styria's easy, golden light chasing you home. Most visitors never discover Graz at all. You'll discover it privately. Reserve your private experience — we'll take care of the rest.

Please note: entrance tickets and meals are not included. We're happy to arrange Landeszeughaus or Kunsthaus visits on request.
